Carolyn Chen

A postcard from CAROLYN CHEN, delivered personally, from her composer's studio here at the KHN Center for the Arts, 10 m next to my studio. Carolyn is a composer based in Pasadena, California. She arrived in Nebraska city 2 weeks ago. Carolyn makes "music for supermarket, demolition district, and the dark. Her work reconfigures the everyday to take apart habits of our ears through sound, text, light, image, and movement." On e of my personal Chen-favorites is the supermarket music-performance. Shopping according to color and sound. The subject of the photo is the view from her studio her in Nebraska City. I totally agree with Carolyn, about her definition of the good life and the love for snow.
